Emergency Response Unit
The Emergency Response Unit (ERU) is comprised of 12 individuals
who are specially trained and prepared to deal effectively with
unusual and unexpected police situations. The Unit is supervised
by two sergeants and includes 10 other individuals from the patrol
division. ERU team members spend time each month training to handle
high-risk situations. These situations include, but are not limited
to, felony/narcotics search warrants, hostage situation and/or barricaded
subjects. Officers receive advanced firearms training as well as
ground fighting and tactical/covert operations training.
